APR 18 Ruby. Incredible purity on the nose, blueberries, dark fruits, some red berries, an array of floral notes nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh, fruity, playful and detailed, lovely balance, nuanced and long, superb! 97-99

APR 17 Ruby. Blackberries, fruity, floral, detailed, elegant, seductive as few, violets, blueberries, some vanilla, layered and deep nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, dark berries, spices, detailed, blackberries, anise, layered, nuanced, playful, concentrated, quite lively, stunning length. Goes on and on. 99-100

2015 Petrus
APR 16 Ruby. Red berries, blueberries, fresh, elegant, nuanced, scented, lively, lovely nose, touch spicy, minerals, superb nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh, fruity, red berries, structure, has a leaner mid palate before it takes up again in the finish. Dark fruits and layered, very long. 96-98

APR 13 Deep ruby. Elegant nose, slightly tender, layered and nuanced. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, elegant and playful palate, refined, layered and nuanced and very long. Gorgeous balance. 94-96

2011 Petrus
APR 12 Ruby. Blueberries, exotic spices, dark berries, blackberries, touch of coffee beans, somewhat deeper nose in a shutdown way. Fresh acidity, ripe and polished tannins, blackberries, some anise and spices, blueberries, tighter, even if silky, textured and structured behind. Long. 95-97

2010 Petrus
AUG 14 Ruby. Scented, layered, nuanced, detailed, elegant, refined, nuanced, scented, detailed, refined and incredibly sexy. Gorgeous nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, elegant, detailed, superb balance, detailed, layered, fruity and rounded, yet layered and transparent, incredible length. 99

2010 Petrus
JAN 14 Ruby, almost purple rim. Complex, dense, chocolate, blueberries, blackberries and vanilla nose. Power mixed with finesse, fresh acidity, ripe tannins, elegant texture, a mouthful of flavours, cigar finish, very long indeed. 98

APR 11 Tasted twice during primeur week, first time very shut down, second time, some three days later, opened beautifully up. Deep of fruits, scented, layered, complex and intensely refined. Superb texture, fresh acidity, ripe tannins, elegant, beautiful balance, sexy and seductive, benchmark Merlot, stunning length, lasting all the way from Petrus to Ausone.... I'm not joking! My best ever Petrus! 96-98

APR 11 Ruby. Tight, closed, vanilla, blueberries, dark fruits, spices nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, dark berries, some anise, long finish, but very tight knit. With air it opens up somewhat. 95-97

2009 Petrus
OCT 12 Deep ruby. Intense nose for Petrus, massive layers of fruit and floral notes. Still transparent. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, seductive, vanilla ever so slightly up front at this stage. Powerful Petrus, yet not powerful in the normal sense of the word. Exceptional length.  I hope I will taste it again one day. 99

2008 Petrus
OCT 12 Ruby. Somewhat deep but equally pure, blueberries and floral. Extremely layered nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, almost creamy texture, yet nuanced. Again somewhat light body with intense flavours that easily escapes you. Superb length. 96

2007 Petrus
MAR 13 Ruby. Again this almost Burgundian elegance, blueberries, floral and scented nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, elegant and light texture, not far from 07 La Tâche not long ago, but more intense flavours, very long. More open like last bottle. 95

OCT 12 Ruby. Floral and blueberry nose. Some vanilla and coffee. Barrels shines a little bit through at this stage. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, almost Burgundian texture, again light body and intense flavours. Somewhat more intense and open than the bottle a few weeks back. 95

SEP 12 (Decanted for four hours) Bright ruby. Blueberries mixed with a touch of herbs. Extremely perfumed, layers and layers of ungrasping notes. Vague but complex. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, transparent and yet again subdued, easy to miss things going on, superbly elegant and feels fragile, even if quite intense palate. Refreshing and long finish. 93

2005 Petrus
JAN 14 Ruby. Scented, nuanced, elegant, refined touch of oak in front, flirting like few. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, nuanced, layered palate, bit tight even after two hours in decanter, more detailed than last bottle, extremely long. 98

OCT 14 Ruby. Scented, floral, fruity, layered and detailed nose, elegant, nuanced, flirting, not the most intense Petrus, light exotic touch. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh, detailed and fruity, slightly lean, quite playful, somewhat herbal finish, long. 94

APR 17 Ruby. Scented, detailed, floral, nuanced, elegant, refined and intense, blueberries, stunning nose, not as up front and big as one might expect from the vintage. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh, fruity, detailed, nuanced, lovely texture, fruit driven finish, long. Very seductive. 96

1998 Petrus
NOV 11 Ruby, ruby rim, floral, herbs, bell peppers (I and most around the table thought this to be the Cheval) leather, intense nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, lively, not as easy going as number two (Ausone), ads in length with air, very refreshing, stunning. 97

1996 Petrus
MAY 12 Ruby, elegant and almost velvety nose. Blueberries, vanilla, some floral high-notes and white chocolate. Elegant texture, fresh acidity, ripe and soft tannins, very enjoyable, but almost too easy going, too easy to enjoy. But I would have loved more complexity. 93

NOV 11 A level fill, deep ruby with garnet rim. Violets, dark fruits, some vanilla. Very good mouthfeel and texture, fresh acidity, ripe tannins, good length. Lacks quite much in complexity, refinement and nuances for me for a wine of this legendary status. 91

AUG 18 Ruby, garnet rim. Anise, blueberries, some spices, scented, elegant nose, fairly detailed nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, juicy, elegant, lovely balance, some cherries, figs, dates, long. Served blind, this has improved a lot. 94

DEC 09 Deep ruby, garnet rim. Very closed, some blueberries and plums, hints of cigars, great balance, very elegant, tender in it's all to closed fashion. Very long and elegant finish, tannins ripe, good acidity. I hope it improves, for now. 89

JAN 08 My second bottle of Petrus followed right after the first one, at Bruun Rasmussen tasting in Copenhagen, from magnum. Ruby. Fruity, blueberries, tender feel to it, detailed but shy, slight herbal note and elegant, long if narrow finish. Someone pushed me so I spilled some of it on my shirt and I actually considered not washing it. It kind of had more value all of a sudden. 91

1987 Petrus
OCT 09 Deep garnet. Very mature nose, complex, leather, cigars, plums, prunes, some fresh dirt and blueberries. Drying out in the mouth, tannins are getting harsh, acidity a bit high for the fruit, but still manages to have quite a long and elegant, if not to intense finish. As the other 87's tasted lately, the nose is far better than the body and taste. Drink. 82

1987 Petrus
JAN 08 My first ever Petrus at Bruun Rasmussen tasting in Copenhagen. Deep garnet. Evolved nose, dried fruits, leather, figs, prunes, floral notes, light and transparent nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, leaner palate, starting to dry out, but lovely nose. 86

1986 Petrus
JUN 15 Ruby, garnet rim. Scented, dark fruits, some blueberries, spices, darker and deeper than a bottle last year, quite youthful still, tight, needs massive air to open. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, quite lively and elegant palate, lovely acidity string that carries the flavours, some figs, long. 93

1986 Petrus
JUL 14 Served blind. Ruby, garnet rim. Cassis, blueberries, figs, prunes, leather, elegant nose, detailed, VA, rich nose. The VA blows off leaving a highly scented nose, flirting. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, rounded, fruity, fairly elegant but a bit dry mid palate and the finish never catches up. Got a bit better for a while before drying a bit. More intense nose than last bottle, palate fairly similar but drier. Long. I was at Musars doors while the VA notes lasted, I went through Radici as well, ending in 89 Trotanoy. 92 at its best. (95 on the nose)

1986 Petrus
OCT 12 Bright ruby, garnet rim. Floral, scented and seductive nose. Layered and subdued. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, elegant, very shy and is more introvert than my last bottle. Very long. 94

1986 Petrus
NOV 10 A level fill, ruby with garnet rim. Herbs and green peppers, touch of coffee, spices and vanilla. Leanish body, fresh acidity, oak tannins firm and almost unpleasant, aggressive at least, lean and short finish. 86

1985 Petrus
SEP 12 From the Bolkesjø collection. In the neck fill. Bright ruby, perfumed, roses, violets, leather, rich of anise and blueberries beneath. Transparent, feels light on its feet even if quite intense. Complex. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, richer palate, some coffee and white chocolate in the long finish.

NOV 10 A level fill, ruby with brick rim. Mocha, heavy and ripe feel to it, vanilla, coffee and ripe dark fruits. Body is leaner than fruit suggests, fresh acidity, ripe tannins, green bell peppers and herbal finish. Good length. 90

1979 Petrus
NOV 10 It is special to have your own vintage of Petrus in front of you, and even better in the glass. A level fill, ruby with garnet rim. Tobacco, anise, floral and elegant, violets, tobacco, refined. Superb mouthfeel, what a balance and elegance, finally! Fresh acidity, tannins more or less gone, seductive, just a bit short. 90
