The ripeness of the vintage shines through here and there, feels younger than it is. Excellent fill in bottle, perfectly stored bottle. Does it have enough fruit for the structure? 89

Prunes, figs, anise, leather and just a touch of mint. Not too intense nose. Fresh feel, lively acidity, tannins almost gone, not that complex but still going on fairly well, some iodine mid palate, then tobacco and leather finish, good length. 88

APR 18 Ruby core, brown rim. Liquorice, earthy, spices, dates, raisins, quite a deep and heavy nose to it. Fresh acidity, hardly tannins left, spices, anise, figs, dates, earthy, surprisingly deep. Maybe not the most graceful even at this age but not rustic either. Directly from the chateau at Academie du Vin dinner in Bordeaux. 93
