Graceful! 13,75% alcohol and 3,61 pH. 98-100

2011 Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion
OCT 16 Deep ruby. Dark fruits, spices, minerals and floral, I needed to come back to this one several times as it was highly woody and toasty at first but gathered more and more depth and minerals notes. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, spices and fruity, again this superb depth behind, needs cellar age. This might go higher with air, 2011 is an underrated vintage for some strange reason all over the market. 94

SEP 18 Ruby. Fruit driven, anise, spices, cassis, blackberries and blueberries, floral and nuanced, elegant nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh, fruity, detailed, rich, nuanced, dense, long. 93

OCT 16 Ruby. Dark fruits, spices, ripe and rich nose, vanilla and spices, trying very hard. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, ripe, rich and big, dark fruits and spices, intense but lacks finesse. 91

SEP 08 Ruby. Vanilla, coffee, spices, dark fruity, quite a bit of wood on the nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, palate also quite woody and rustic, bit rough, lacks fruit. 88

OCT 16 Ruby. Dark fruits, floral, cassis, some red berries core, wood shows a bit still but charming. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, anise, red berries and blueberries, long. 91

2006 Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion
SEP 12 Bright ruby. Light floral touch over cassis and some very subdued Pessac-minerals. Fruity nose for this estate. Fresh acidity, soft attack, ripe tannins, balanced and good length. This estate isn't always quite together, but seems to have made a lovely effort this vintage. Also a very rare find, so any Bordeaux enthusiast should grab a bottle or two. 89

2006 Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion
AUG 13 Ruby. Cassis, plums and slightly ripe nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity but lacks nuances. This could be an not perfect bottle, or the oak is still hiding some of the fruit nuances. 87

2006 Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion
SEP 08 Ruby. Blackberries, cassis, vanilla, spices, smoky and coffee nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, dark fruits with loads of rough vanilla and coffee. 88

2005 Château Les Carmes Haut- Brion
OCT 12 Deep ruby, almost opaque. Vanilla and oak dust, cassis and blackberries. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, the normal edginess of this estate, rough and needs time. 89

2004 Château Carmes Haut-Brion
SEP 10 Ruby, slightly rustic nose, vanilla and oak over cassis and herbs. A bit lean body, good acidity, ripe tannins and some more astringent from wood, needs time to pull around, rustic style, ok length.
