NOV 16 Ruby. Plums, dark fruits, red berries, some truffles, anise, something earthy and leathery beneath nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, still firm and structured, slightly rustic texture, long finish. Has gained something since last bottle but not that charming to me. 93

NOV 11 Ruby with garnet rim, closed and gamey, firm and somewhat tannic, needs a lot of time, long finish. Later on coffee, leather, lacks something in the structure, feels rough, to me quite typical of La Fleur Petrus, always a bit edgy. 92

SEP 13 Ruby. Spices, blueberries, tight nose, needs lots of air to open. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, blueberries, fruity if rustic, loosens up with air, more mellow and getting fairly charming. Long. 90

AUG 09 Dyp rubinrød, lysere kant. Fruktig og svakt krydret duft, forholdsvis enkel og platt uten å føles lukket, men med meget lang og litt intetsigende ettersmak. Flott syre og modne tanniner. Jeg ble ikke klok på denne... 80

OCT 10 Ruby, some herbal and bell peppers still (I remember the first time I tasted this, it was so green I had trouble finishing it) and anise, very intense. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, balanced and maturing, eventually nicely it seems. Good balance, almost buttery texture, long length. Drink soon? 90

APR 10 Ruby with garnet rim. Greenish note, paprika, blackcurrants, herbal and spices, very elegant, touch of liquorice. Balanced and good acidity, ripe tannins, slightly hollow still, but really starting to shape up, needs time, even if it starts to charm, and a long length.87

APR 17 Magnum. Ruby, garnet rim. Scented, figs, minerals, truffles, mint, leaner and subtle nose, dates and leather. Fresh acidity, few ripe tannins, figs, dates, spices. Elegant, nuanced, still refreshing, long. At the Academie dinner in Bordeaux. 93

1947 Château La Fleur-Pétrus

SEP 12 Château bottled, mid shoulder fill. Deep ruby, thin brick line before orange rim. Coffee, deep feel, dark dried fruits, floral high note. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, rich, feels like it's drying a bit and (at least this bottle) seems to be past it's best. Seems like not even Broadbent has tasted it as none of the three books from him has any notes on it. 92
