JUL 13 Top shoulder fill, very good cork confirming label. Ruby with brick rim. Flat at first, some leather and prunes turning up after a few minutes. Touch of violets. Fresh acidity, tannins polished off, succulent, savory, lovely balance, not that complex, silky texture and quite refreshing, giving little or maybe more than enough, some faint berries stops by for a quick "hello" before they run off into eternity. Perfect bottle, just a bit too old. Would have been marvelous ten or twenty years ago I'm sure. Ads and takes away same amount all the time, but always balance. A remarkable bottle and I'm not sure how to judge it. Probably the only bottle I've ever tasted that is dying off at a perfect balance. I don't know how to rate it, different from anything else. 88
