Very fresh palate, higher acidity, some pencil shave, minerals, ripe tannins, still young. Wait another five years or more. 90

NOV 11 Ruby, vanilla and Pauillac nose. Fresh acidity, classic texture, high of ripe tannins, long finish. Pauillac for those who love Pauillac. 93

SEP 10 Bright ruby, very fresh, starting cedar, pencil, blackcurrants, touch of herbs, bell peppers and spices. Complex and very elegant. Pure, and fresh acidity, ripe tannins, very balanced and a long length. Drink now to 2020. 92

OCT 09 Ruby with ruby rim, slightly perfumed nose, hints of roses, lavender, red ripe berries and sweetish fruit. Ok acidity for a 03, ripe tannins, some herbs, loads of ripe red plums and sweet fruit. Ok finish, not a typical Pauillac, easy drinking, but not great. 76

APR 12 Ruby with garnet rim. Ripe cherries, tobacco, leather, floral, actually tightens with air, getting rougher, or rather more focused. Fresh acidity, almost creamy texture, high of ripe tannins. Layered, mouthwatering finish, long. Wait at least five years. 94

2000 Château Lynch- Bages
JUN 11 Ruby, very youthful and refined Pauillac, just starting to let go of it's childhood, fresh acidity, perfect balance, refreshing, ripe tannins, I would easily wait another five to ten years for this, it will pay you back, gorgeous length. For now, 93

APR 12 Ruby with garnet rim. Plums, sweet tobacco, rich nose. Rich palate as well, good acidity, ripe tannins, feels simple minded and straight-forward, less layered, less complex. But has a good length, but quite boring compared to the 96 by its side. 93

APR 18 Ruby, garnet rim. Scented, blackberries, anise, tobacco, layered and deep, probably more so than the best bottle I’ve had of this from earlier, this is either a perfect bottle or just added more. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, superb body and balance, layered and detailed, sweet and fruity, figs, cassis, dates, lots of tobacco, some cedar, long indeed. 96

MAY 12 Ruby, garnet rim. Rich nose, intense, dark berries, cassis, cedar, sweet tobacco, morellos, plums, stone from fruits far behind. Vanilla and licorice stroke the fruit every now and then. Fine black tea. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, superb balance, hedonistic and elegant, needed ours in decanter to open, hours. Fresh, long and lingering finish, a bit oaky and still a bit edgy. This is still fairly young. I think my best bottle. Superb. 95

Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, some, figs, dates, minerals, fresh and fruity even if more on dried fruits, elegant texture, long. Cigars. Very charming. I drink far too little Lynch Bages. 94

OCT 09 Ruby with ruby rim, fantastic nose, starting with secondary aromas, but only hints, cedar, leather, blackcurrants, cigar, cassis, hints of vanilla, intense and complex. Nice and fresh acidity, elegant and balanced, ripe tannins, almost unbelievable clean fruit, some stone fruits and fantastic long finish. A classic. 95

JUN 14 Ruby, garnet rim, fill about 8mm below cork. Intense, sweet fruits, rich nose, scented, detailed, red berries, cassis, leather, tobacco notes, floral, seductive nose, layered. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity and intense, youthful for the vintage, ripe but still fairly cool fruit, detailed, nuanced, very long indeed. 96

NOV 08 Brick with thin ruby core. Fill upper shoulder. Cedar, tobacco, cigars, fragrant but in this deeper notes, gentlemen’s bedroom. Fine leather. Fresh acidity, few tannins, quite a lovely freshness to the acidity, figs, dates, again leather and tobacco, cedar, graceful and fully mature. 94

AUG 05 50 years old! Ruby core, garnet rim, quite a bit of sediments. Dates, chocolate, figs, leather, cedar, smells almost like interior of an old Rolls-Royce. Patina of leather wood and wood polish. Elegant and graceful palate, smooth, detailed, rounded, just lovely balance, superb and fully mature. 96
