APR 10 Ruby with bright ruby rim. Closed but some chocolate and vanilla. Doesn't quite want to let its secrets out yet, but there is something good lurking underneath. Nice and fresh acidity, feels quite lively, great ripe tannin structure, flavorful, very good finish, and long length. 90-92

APR 10 Ruby with bright purple rim. Very youthful and fruity, hints of chocolate, dark berries and a peppery/ spicy touch. Good acidity, lively wine, but it's the fruit that livens things up more than the acidity, balanced and complex, nice structure and very long finish, elegant. 86-88

Good texture, ripe tannins, good acidity, but would have loved for it to be more mouthwatering, elegant body, even if on the lean side, very structured and herbaceous, needs time, keep 4-5 years or more. 86

DEC 09 Deep ruby, fantastic nose, some red plums, red berries, hints of vanilla, blackcurrants and hints of herbs and violets. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, well balanced and long, elegant finish. Probably the best La Lagune I have had. 91

JUL 10 (Magnum) Deep ruby, garnet rim. Maturing nicely, liquorice, prunes, very mature all ready. After 30 minutes in the glass, younger, fresher and more lively style, blackcurrants, violets, anise, touch of spices, leather and cigars. Good acidity, ripe tannins, well balanced, elegant, could be more complex, but good length. 89

MAY 10 (magnum) Dark ruby with garnet rim. Maturing nose of tobacco, prunes, blackcurrants, touch of coffee and leather touch. Good acidity, ripe tannins, quite evolved to be honest, good balance, and a pleasure now, but slightly hollow mid palate though, but then a good length. 89

APR 09 Ruby. Cassis, blueberries, liquorice, starting to mature, scented with more air. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, dark berries, anise, structured, detailed, long. 91

NOV 13 Ruby, garnet rim. Slightly scented, spices, bit woody notes under cassis and a faint floral note. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, rounded with air, starting to come together nicely, drinking really well now with air, bit rustic but that has its charm. Long. 90

FEB 12 Bottom neck fill, ruby with garnet rim. Fairly intense nose for a 78, and more intense than the last bottle just a few weeks back. Licorice, plums, figs, leather, minerals and grilled peppers. Fresh acidity, tannins almost gone, they just make a curtain, a theatrical backdrop to the stage of flavours, very elegant, nice balance, some fruit lingers on the finish. 90

FEB 12 Into neck fill, ruby, brick rim, lots of sediments. Leather, fresh dirt, prunes, sweet tobacco. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, just on the verge of being too old this bottle, no signs of iodine or drying tannins, but just. 84

AUG 10 Top shoulder, B/C_C level, rubyish with broad brick rim and almost amber outer rim, soaked and tired cork. Wet wood, rubber, mahogany, coffee touch, motor oil, toffee, anise, caramel, burnt butter. Good texture and structure, fresh acidity, no tannins what so ever, touch of iodine, balanced, palate fresher and younger than nose, quite intense, very mineral finish, almost salty pretzels, touch of prunes far back. Lasted twenty minutes before tiring quickly. 87
