2003 Chateau d'Armailhac
MAR 10 Bright ruby, blackcurrants, leather, some herbal notes, cassis and coffee, even here the fruit seems to dry, the slightly jammy feel can still be detected, but not even close to have it was, and the typicity of Pauillac is now very evident, fresh acidity, massive ripe tannins that needs time still, very long finish. 89

1926 Château Mouton d’Armailhac
OCT 06 Wow, this old wine lay dusty and unnoticed in a bin in a Copenhagen wine shop. Fill was mid shoulder, I asked the shop keeper what he wanted for it, I gave 350,- Danish Kroner. Cork fell to pieces while opening. First dusty and seemingly tired and maybe even dead. Dried fruits and raisins after about fifteen minutes, bit dusty all the way. Almost thin acidity, some sweet and sour cherries, some figs, earthy, some leather and tobacco. Clearly past its best but I’m having an 80 years old wine in the glass and it’s not dead. Money well spent. 88
