JAN 13 In the neck fill. Ruby with thin brick rim. Figs, warm plums, prunes, somewhat dusty and licorice. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins starting to polish off. A few astringent ones. Leanish and somewhat dry finish, not for everyone. 90

NOV 11 Surprisingly dark colored, so typical of the vintage, ruby with garnet rim. Perfumed, leaf, dusty with violets behind, prunes, mature fruit. Good acidity, tannins slightly dry behind, lean body, good length. 87

NOV 10 Ruby with orange rim, dusty, gamey nose, touch of alcohol and even chlorine. Thin, lean, acidic, some iodine, watery texture, tannic and short finish. Too old or bad storage. The 75 vintage is not easy to understand. 73

NOV 12 Top shoulder fill. Bright ruby, thin garnet rim. Opened up dry and dusty, turning into some vague red fruits. After fifteen minutes, scented with plums and chocolate, some leather. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, somewhat drying mid palate, and even dryer in the finish. 86 at very best.

1962 Château Cantenac Brown
NOV 12 A. Lalande bottling. In the neck fill. Pale ruby with brick rim a la 80's Burgundy.  Light earthy notes with some figs, leather and tobacco. Somewhat scented notes comes and goes. A lot on this wine comes and goes for about forty minutes before it dies off. Lean body, fresh and lively acidity, tannins long gone. Somewhat tight texture, you need to like old wine to find the charm in it, on the verge but has nerve and fruit. Slightly nervous finish. 89 at its very best minutes, more 87 on average.
