Château Cantelys

Pessac-Léognan

2012 Château Cantelys
APR 13 Deep ruby. Fruity, scented and vanilla nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity and playful, slightly herbal finish. 87-89

2012 Château Cantelys blanc
APR 13 Pale lemon yellow. Apples, grapefruit and elegant nose. Fresh acidity, elegant fruit and texture, good length. 88-90

2009 Château Cantelys
APR 10 (Barrel sample) Bright ruby, closed, dark fruits and vanilla, beautiful texture, good acidity and ripe tannins, dark fruits, liquorice, good length. A bit too closed for a real assessment, so best guess is 83-85?

2009 Château Cantelys blanc
MAY 12 Pale golden, citrus, minerals, vanilla, touch of flint. Fresh acidity, balanced, easygoing and enjoyable after many white Burgundies lately, more balanced, together, lovely white Bordeaux.
87

2009 Château Cantelys blanc
MAR 12 Pale lemon yellow. Fresh nose of lemons, grapefruit, minerals, oysters and a touch of asparagus. Fresh acidity, lively and elegant, towards creamy texture, quite long.

2009 Château Cantelys Blanc
OCT 11 Pale golden, fruit driven and minerals, citrus. Fresh acidity, balanced and lovely texture, good length. 87

2007 Château Cantelys
AUG 12 Dark ruby. When opened, raw, brutal and in teenage wrath. Ungainly and difficult to enjoy. The next day, it settled down, just a bit of the vintage herbs, cool feel overshadowing the minerals, slightly unripe blackcurrant's. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, a bit hollow mid palate, good length.

2006 Château Cantelys
SEP 13 Deep ruby. Fruity, scented, elegant, floral and nuanced nose, minerals, deep. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, minerals almost as backbone, has a nerve, somewhat lean finish, a bit of the vintage roughness still. Long. 90
