1995 Château Haut-Marbuzet

FEB 17 Bottle has been "opened" by coravin 17th of January 2015. I did not taste it then, but tasted it on 5th of February 2017, one week after another bottle of this wine was opened from the same cellar. Ruby, brick rim. Leather, some tobacco, mush flatter nose than last bottle, cherries, lacks the high notes. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, leaner palate, softer and gentler texture, again it lacks the high notes. The owner of the cellar feels the bottle has deteriorated quite a bit and that it two years ago was much more similar to the one we had a week ago. Good length. 85

1995 Château Haut-Marbuzet

FEB 17 Ruby, garnet rim. Leather, anise, figs, dates, tobacco, elegant and refined nose, smells superb. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, anise, blueberries, dates and figs, juicy, the structure is getting mellower, long finish. 93
