Ruby. Blackberries, anise, floral, dark fruits, nuanced and scented nose.  Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, dark fruits, ebergetic if lean bodied. Bit short.   88-90

 

2022 Château Brane-Cantenac

Ruby. Scented, blackberries, anise, some spices, fruit driven nose, layered, minerals, nuanced.  Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, dark fruits, red berries, elegant texture, detailed, nuanced and layered, energetic, long finish, really bright and refined, such finesse. Must be the finest vintage to date from Brane-Cantenac.   95-97

 

2022 Baron de Brane

Ruby. Scented, blackberries, fruit driven, nuanced, scented, detailed nose. Floral and lifted. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, red and dark fruits, anise, liquorice, lovely balance.   89-91

 

2022 Brane-Cantenac Blanc

Pale lemon yellow.  Only some 3000 bottles made. Citrus, minerals, fruit driven nose, minerals nose, some vanilla notes, but very light. Fresh acidity, apples, citrus, fruit driven, peach, detailed, layered and refreshing. Long.  92

 

2022 Château Cantenac Brown

Ruby. Cassis, anise, some spices, fruit driven nose, scented and detailed. Quite bright. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, dark fruits, anise, spices, liquorice, detailed, firmer finish, elegant fruit, a fine tuned Cantenac Brown.   93-95

Ruby. Scented, detailed, fruit driven nose, some spices, liquorice, floral. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, red fruits, anise, some spices, liquorice, detailed, good length.   88-90

 

2022 Château Dauzac

Ruby. Blackberries, anise, blueberries, fruit driven, quite intense nose.  Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, blackberries, anise, some spices, juicy, nuanced, lovely wine and a new level for Dauzac. I think this is the best they have ever done.   93-95

 

2022 Château Desmirail

Ruby. Blackberries, anise, spices, fruit driven nose, some vanilla, chocolate and spices.  Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, dark fruits, spices, liquorice, vanilla, spicy-coffee finish, quite a bit of wood, but enough concentration for once. Long.   91-93

 

2022 Château Deyrerm-Valentin

Ruby. Scented, blackberries, floral, fruit driven, detailed and layered nose.  Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, blackberries, anise, dark fruits, some spices, long finish.   90-92

 

2022 Château Durfort-Vivens

Ruby. Scented, blackberries, anise, dark fruits, liquorice nose, nuanced and detailed. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, dark fruits, blackberries, layered, blackberries, juicy, layered and nuanced, deep, rich and energetic, long. The best ever Durfort-Vivens, a property doing so much right and now it is really escalating in the bottle.   95-97

 

2022 Château Ferrière

Ruby. Scented, blackberries, dark fruit, rich and nuanced, floral, another level on the nose for Ferrière, I have never smelled it so expressive.  Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, red fruits, anise, spices, detailed, fruit driven, nuanced, juicy with texture, long finish. Best ferrière I have ever tasted, with margin.   93-95

Ruby. Herbs, jammy notes, boiled nose.  Lacks life and energy, avoid.   83-85

Ruby. Layered, deep, intense, blackberries, rich, fruit driven, scented, rich, floral, dark fruits nose.  Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, blackberries, dark fruits, layered, intense, detailed, energetic, the energy and acidity is just on a different level, if you keep this in your mouth, it just accellerates, long indeed.   98-100

 

2022 Alter Ego de Château Palmer

Ruby. Rich nose, dark fruit driven, layered and intense, almost smells lush.  Fresh acidity, ripe and detailed, intense, lush, blackberries, fruit driven, rich and deep, a different animal from your usual Alter Ego. Concentration and energy.   93-95

Ruby. Dark fruits, anise, liquorice, blackberries nose.  Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, dark fruits, blackberries, anise, juicy with texture, must be best ever Pouget.   90-92

Ruby. Dark fruits, bramble, cassis, bueberries, some vanilla, detailed, scented and lifted nose.  Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, detailed, fruit driven, spices, liquorice, layered and nuanced. So much is going on here that it almost feels unsettled at this stage, long finish.   94-96
