2020 Château Calon Ségur

APR 21 Ruby. Cassis, blueberries, dense, rich nose, blackberries, vanilla, spices, rich and intense nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, dark fruits, vanilla and spices, dense, lots of wood, very few wines this vintage shows wood so clearly, covering up such vibrant and lush fruit. Long finish. I am sure it will handle the wood over the years, but it may be a hard nut to crack the first decade. 95-97

2020 Le Marquis de Calon Ségur 

APR 21 Ruby. Cassis, coffee, chocolate, dark fruits nose, intense and deep. Lots of wood. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, dark fruits, spices, quite a bit of wood on the palate, after the other ones tasted today it almost feels old fashioned on the use of wood. Not that precise. But lots of fine fruit. Long finish. 92-94
